The Healing that you Need

Why is it so important to address grief? The answer is quite simple. Grief, especially severe grief, can negatively impact virtually every aspect of your life.

When it comes to your health, grief, though not categorized as a disease, can cause bodily harm.

The grieving process can be painful. Healing is crucial to our total well being.

Healing through Change and Faith

When you experience the death of a loved one, it is important to understand that both physical and emotional well being are affected, and that we perceive the situation as a threat. Researchers note that ¨grief is the natural way of coping with this threat¨. In other words, grieving is our natural way of adjusting to a new world without our loved one. Thus, grief is not all bad, but does need to be understood. Through understanding comes healing.

Journey to Joy™ is based on the belief that there can be no healing without the presence of Jesus Christ. It is devoted to the fact that healing requires the participation of the individual in grief, allowing for our God-given freedom to choose joy for the rest of our lives.

Through the Journey to Joy™ program, you will learn that you must take an active part in bringing real joy into your life. You will also learn that having joy does not dishonor your loved one, but may in fact be the best way to bring them honor. This basic premise, along with welcoming Christ´s healing presence, is essential to grief recovery.

While we believe that faith is needed for healing, participants need not attend the church conducting the program. In fact, those without a church home are always welcome.
